I wanted to use today’s blog post to spread the word about a lovely group for women with Diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, LADA, Gestational). It is called DiabetesSisters, but it is not your average support group. My friend, Andrea, whom I met while volunteering with our local ADA office noticed that there was not a local group in our area, so she took it upon herself to obtain the appropriate information and began a group about 6 months ago. We’ve been meeting ever since, but our group is small and we are looking to expand. So, if you live in the Rochester, NY area, have diabetes, and are looking to share your experiences, come join us. We meet the last Thursday of every month at 7pm. If you need more information, and details about the location, you can contact Andrea at: andrea@diabetessisters.org. She will be glad to give you the address to our next meeting, scheduled for Thursday, February 28, 2013 @ 7pm. For more information on DiabetesSisters, check out http://www.diabetessisters.org or you can email them at: info@diabetessisters.org. Remember: this group is for women only (but if you’re a man reading this and have a woman in your life living with diabetes, please share!)

Hi Julie, I loved your description of our group. I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Glad you liked it. Wasn’t sure how to describe it so I just typed what came naturally.
