Walking to save lives….

Last night we had our first meeting at the local American Diabetes Association (ADA)’s office for this year’s Step Out:  Walk to Stop Diabetes!  I was asked to be on the planning committee after raising over $500 in the 201o walk!  It is such an honor to be part of this team.  Not only have I opened my social networking to a lot more people, but I feel that we have become our own little group of friends!  With fellow team members also being both Type I and Type 2 diabetics, you truly feel a special camaraderie with them that you do not feel with even your best friend or your significant other.  They get you because they’re going through it, too!

SAVE THE DATE:  Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Genesee Valley Park’s Roundhouse Shelter and the website for fundraising goes live on Tuesday, March 13, 2012.  If you are interested in walking or donating, it’s never too early!!!
